Mark S Black

Songwriter, guitarist and producer with a very distinctive style of rootsy blues. After three studio albums and a double live album and concert dvd release, Mark S Black is returning to roots with his next title due out in September 2016. The new album is currently in production and sounding on the side of hard oldtown blues and stompin tales of devils and angels on the Swilly Banks of a northwest town.

On previous albums his work has included an eclectic choice of instrumentation throughout. Lap steel guitars, didjireedoos, 12 string guitars, thunder sticks and wooden flutes can all be heard over his 3 studio albums and a double live album and concert dvd with the Roots Orchestra. (2010)

He is an artisan and founding member of the Andromeda Artisans Music Collective.

The album produced by Mark Black features 10 new tracks written by Mark and includes a cover of the Jimi Hendrix Experience Purple Haze. This album is a return to rock influences with pumping guitars, driving bass and drums, tight vocal harmonies and dynamic song arrangements. The album features The Trips with Seamus Devenny on drums and Brendan McGlynn on bass.
